There's a district (a bit seedy) near where i staying and I had a very cheap dinner of the ubiquitous. and yet yummy, curry and rice. There was a vending machine outside the door from which you bought a ticket. You then took it inside and then swapped it for your food. It took a while to read the machine instructions but I figured it out ok. Incredibly cheap good food. My Japanese friends are probably shocked at me eating the equivalent of takeaway, but playing with all these machines in Japan is totally addictive and fun!
