The manga life cycle

This wonderful display neatly points out how the medium of manga is read by people of all ages.
Many think that manga is just a youth culture phenomenon, but this is certainly a false idea.
Manga is read by children, young teenagers, older teenagers, young adults, business people, 'housewives' (those are the display's words, not mine)etc as you can see here. The manga itself will be highly targetted to its audience though. For example, manga is used in adult publications in political satire as opposed, say, to pure storytelling in younger readers.
But this is also being unfair to younger people, as the stories themselves often explore highly complex social, humanistic and scientific issues in a highly accessible manner. I'm quite amazed at the interplay of concise communication ams incredibly complex thoughts.
