Buying a ticket to Thurso

Here's a pic from the top of Queen Street, Glasgow, outside the station just near George Square, looking up to Nelson Mandela Place.

I was off buying my train ticket to Thurso, which was going to be expensive, and the ticket seller told me to go to Sainsburys (the supermarket) and buy anything and pick up a Scotrail coupon, and then come back to buy the ticket.

I did that, and the return ticket to Thurso, which is about as far away on a train you can get from Glasgow for 18 pounds. The ticket normally costs 76 pounds, so that was a considerable saving.
