Cherry blossom carpet
See here what is called the 'cherry blossom carpet' or sakura no juutan. Very beautiful. Actually, it can be breathtakingly beautiful. I now know why the Japanese people celebrate the sakura - you're going to hate me because I'll never stop raving about how beautiful the sakura is.

I know what you're talking about! We went at the end of winter and after three weeks of cold and snow we got into warmer weather and saw the first cherry blossoms in the south (with as many photographers around them).
ReplyDeleteIt was so beautiful and in a way liberating to walk amongst these signs of "winter's over". Too early for the carpet though.
Think you can go to Japan in 12 different months and see a completely different country each time.
